Re “Entities consider removal of low dam to allow for safer kayaking, canoeing,” June 30: I would think that the city of Dayton has more important things to think about than low dams. How about jobs, for instance?

Why don’t our “leaders” just flush our tax dollars down the toilet? They just can’t seem to waste my money fast enough.

Dayton’s problem is small thinking. Make the Great Miami River a fabulous fishing destination, as well as a great place to canoe and kayak, and you will bring serious dollars into the city. This is our city. We should make it beautiful and take full advantage of our river system and share it with the world. The benefits will last generations
